Normally don't post stuff like this here, but this is the best deal I've seen here in years.

If you want a good data plan, this is awesome. $40 for 4GB a month ($38 if you authorize prepayments). It's a prepaid plan, 90 day period for 12GB. It continues as long as you don't let it expire. Promotion ends Nov 20.

Texts are free international, but phone calls are Ontario only. If you want, you can pay $15 for 400 international minutes and with public mobile the minutes do not expire, until you use them. Or you can get an app and use some of your data to make those out of Ontario calls.

Public Mobile is owned by Telus, like Koodo. They are on the Bell network.

Redflagdeals is ALL over this one. Great Q and A! ... h-2050037/

If you need any tech support setting your phone up, PM me. Some of you may need to pay for unlocking. They don't have a store or Kiosk, you order your SIM card and set it up yourself.

If you sign up, please mention I referred you. PM me and I'll give you my phone number, you need that to say I referred you. The referral doesn't cost you anything, but a referral earns a $1 off per month.

I used these guys to unlock my phone. Easy and not too much $$

Sounds good, though I'd not consider Telus myself after too many years dealing with them for landline and internet which just brought too many headaches, especially with their often unreliable billing department. After one fight too many to get a duplicate bill cancelled (seriously, they kept double-billing me, while service got worse and worse, outages all the time) I signed up with Rogers for some years for a cellphone and Shaw for internet. Shaw remains, as they've been reasonable and reliable. Rogers' price kept climbing, while they kept cutting back services, whittling my data down to 4GB which finally drove me away.

I went to Wind for the phone last year and have to say it's been good. For $50/month I get 10GB full-speed data then it slows down a fair bit but unlimited data for the remainder of the month. Also gives me unlimited nation-wide calling and texts. $56 including taxes, which is just over half the $104 total I was paying Rogers for 6GB data and 25 minutes per month of Canadian long distance, 400 minutes talk and 100 texts. I'm not that much of a talker on the phone, but it's nice not having to worry about going over and paying premium penalties. Mobile data's great. If I travelled a lot I'd probably have stuck with Rogers as their roaming network seems about the best here, but in the greater Vancouver region Wind is just right for coverage and value.

A month ago Telus put fiber into my neighbourhood. Since then they've sent 3 salesmen to my door, each applying more pressure, reluctant to take 'no' for an answer. That company seems determined to keep me as an enemy. Their pricing for 150MBPS internet is close to double what I'm paying Shaw for perfectly decent service. Really can't say I understand their approach to business... but hey, at least they're offering you what seems to be a good deal through a subsidiary.
