Is it true that Home Hardware sells the Slavia 631 through a special order?
Can they order the full power Slavia 631, or are they only confied to ordering the detuned version?
What other airguns (or firearms lol) do they carry?

Gracias,
-Al

All 631's are the same in my opinion. I have never seen proof that U.S. models are any different than Canadian versions.

Yes, most Home Hardware's will order the CZ 631 for you. However, there are a few urban stores that can't be bothered to deal with airguns, etc.

i bought my 630 from a mall deep in the ghettos of scarberia. The manager had no problem with me ordering one. He nodded his head in approval and said "those are nice airguns".

Because many of these items are special order, it seems that pricing varies from region to region.

I ordered a pair of Slavia 631s from the local Home Hardware on Sunday, so I imagine the order actually was processed on Monday. They came today, Thursday morning. They were $159.99 each.

For anyone else who may be wondering, only certain stores that have the license to sell these will sell them. I had to go to a few stores to find one that would actually be able to order the guns in and sell them to me. Well worth it though!

apparently they're almost the same gun. The 631 has a locking mechanism on the barrel, and the 630 does not. I imagine that means it should be more accurate, since it should be less susceptible to the 'drooper' syndrome. I would guess this only matters if you're going to be using a scope on it, since the factory rear sight is on the same portion of the gun that moves while you're cocking it, and thus stays straight with it regardless of the precision of the closed position. But with a scope mounted to the receiver, it should be more important that the cocking mechanism return to the same position when closed. CZ says the 631's stock is more robust. More mass I guess? And they mention the receiver being factory milled for mounting scopes, so maybe the 630 doesn't have that option from the factory? The factory rear sight appears to be better than the 630's, too. The windage adjusts via a screw, rather than simply pushing it down and moving it from side to side by hand. And the trigger weight is adjustable via a coin-slot screw on the bottom, rather than having to partially dismantle the gun as in the 630. Probably not a very big price difference between the two, not sure how much the 630 is, but it's probably quite worth getting the 631 rather than the 630.
