I'm sick of all this crappy weather and bored waiting for spring to show up

So with to much time on my hands I've decided to give my HPP a little facelift...
For those of you unfamiliar with the Umarex HPP that's what it looks like in stock form:

I took the slide off and went a little overboard by cutting out the ejection port...I should have just polishing it to a nice chrome. It would have been less work and probably as good looking. But I don't regret it looks cool to me.
I sanded and primed the slide and put three light coats of Testors Enamel Graphite Metallic (#1153 if you like the color!). Yes! That's Testors scale model paint in the small glass bottle. Scale modeling is another one of my hobbies
Then I scraped the paint on the slide serrations and buffed them to high shine.
The final touch was to put white acrylic paint on the recessed letters, let dry and wipe off the excess with a rag dipped in rubbing alcohol.
That's the trick! Acrylics on enamel and use alcohol or enamel on acrylics then use mineral spirit. That way the bottom paint won't be affected by the thinner you use.
And Voilà! Hope you like it...I do 8)
