The bits from ANT in UK just arrived! Lovely well made metal sight base (muzzle end) and a robust plastic (ABS?!) globe sight. And a free donkey pin gift ~ Now put together on the rifle with the cheapo Daisy rear sight... Can't wait to shoot this new combination... But humility just so high since yesterday and the rain hesitated to fall down... Don't want to pump the wet air to the gun and waiting for the good days to come... |

My favorite way of shooting. Looks great. The repeater is interesting. It's a really short LOS. If you really like it increasing distance from the rear to the front sight will help scoring. |

I think that you might be confusing that front sight hood with a rear peep sight. In this case the rear sight is already hanging off the back of the breech and the front is at the muzzle. No way to get a longer sight radius without adding more barrel. Of course there is a chance that I misinterpreted your point... Rob |

Yeah, the rear peep is almost on the very end of the action... However there's still a few mm on the muzzle end I can move the globe sight a little bit further. And the globe sight was fixed on the sight base by left and right two separated pieces, so if I really need it, I can mount the globe halfway spoke out to the muzzle direction... Maybe totally I can get about 10mm longer length of sight radius... Not much help tho unless a longer barrel ... Not a big gun of the cz200, right? Trying an open sight setup again is to test it this setup makes shooting different distance targets simpler than using scopes which needs a lot of calculations IMO... And my eyes looks not too bad when shooting outdoors in a good day... Hopes I can see targets 50 yards away ~ |

A bloop tube or some sort of front sight extension. Have fun with it YepYep. And it does look fun.... |

Oh, yeah, suddenly think about an interesting question... If not extending the barrel length, how about use a smaller size insert in the front sight?! |

For the round inserts the sizing is to adjust the amount of space around the target which is circular. You want enough space to where your movements always allow to see the entire target so you can intuitively adjust. Smaller isn't always better. The post type would give you a lot more target versatility. Essentially a ghost ring setup. Hmm not sure I answered the question... |

Thanks for the answer, not really what I expected tho... What I was thinking is for a longer aiming radius, the front sight is farther to your eye, so it will 'looks' smaller, right? So I was confusing if I use a smaller insert, would it be the same result like moving it a little bit farther away from the rear sight?! And for the 'ghost ring' I know what it looks like~ I used Williams peep sight before on my 2240 and HW30, the rear sight looks like a large blurry ring around the front sight... Someone answered my question and told me that's called ghost ring~ |

Got some good sun shine in the morning to dry out the weather and lowered the humility a bit in the afternoon... Pumped up the gun and 'seriously' started to try out the open sight~ [emoji38] So far the result is positive!! And use open sight with the cz200 is really doable~ Sights got zeroed well and learned to shoot like the official 10 meters air rifle match to aim at the while target and try to let the pellet to hit at the dead center... If I can hold the gun as stable as I rested..... |

Gets a lot better in a short time with practice. You can use a lot of aids like the clothing you see in the Olympics but not necessary to learn. I do however recommend a glove. Makes all the difference in the world. Next would be a jacket but a thick clothing like a sweater works too. That's the standing position where you brace your elbow to your side. Pretty good result. I bet with a little more practice that will tighten up significantly. |

Will try harder ~ it's just the beginning and looks fun and rewarding ~ |
