So I did a thing... And I don't even feel bad about it.
Put together a pistol of my own design.
It's using half of my Kral 9mm barrel, 11" in length.
Conventional valve with the concave poppet face and whatnot (peek poppet). I had a heck of a time getting this one to seal.
Brass hammer, with a SSG, I like these SSG things. Boy do they work awesome!

I fill to 2000 psi currently as my hammer won't likely open the valve with more than that. Still in the r&d phase as far as tuning goes. But it throws the 81gr pellets at 495 fps with ease. Is good for 15 shots.
Shoots pretty straight too.
The only thing I don't like is the barrel is too short. Need to build a brake or something to fix that up...

Good looking build, again I enjoy the brass theme, with matching end pieces - it just screams... "Go ahead...". :drinkers:

Added a brake. Turned out ok I think.
Yeah the bluing looks funny... Might do another application now that I'm done taking the gun apart a million times

When i saw the .357 title, i keep thinking revolver type pistol. Great looking build!! I’ve only ever shot Reaper’s hand cannon, many years ago. I think his was a .30 cal.

Yeah I know what you mean, I think the same way 357 being a pistol cartridge. I am working on a revolver rifle build... Or I was until I ran out of ideas

I find with the "cold" bluing (Birchwood Casey's Paste) I keep adding, applying over and over, until the the 'finish' is even.
Then rinse in cold water, rubbing lightly with cloth, then apply WD40. Nice, even finish - works for me. :D

I've been using g96 gel... It's a little different. I can't see just putting more on without scrubbing the old residue off. I'll get to it eventually

Wouldn't hurt to test the multiple applications, though. I found the 1st one is a bit splotchy and they just got better with more applications,
more even every time until satisfied and complete coverage.

I really rub it in, quite hard and replenish the bluing on the cloth several times or until it comes out the way I want,
then it's done and even and very black.
