I wanted a 177 cal HW100KT for a couple of years now. CAF member jaxcat wrote a review on his HW100KT FSB awhile ago, I really liked it, so I set out to duplicate his set-up.
Today I am a proud owner of a HW100KT FSB in 177 cal. I am super happy with the gun right after opening the box. It is truly a beautiful rifle.
It was advertised as a 18.4 fpe gun (FAC). Right after pulling a few cleaning patches through the batrel, it was shooting 10.34gr JSB Exact Heavy at 894 fps, worked out to 18.35 fpe. The Germans are sure precise in their claims. The gun gets around 45 shots on regulator when filled to 200 bar. The group size easily fit within a Dime at 50 ft.
Next step is to install a longer cylinder like jaxcat did on his HW100KT. It should happen in a couple of weeks when the part arrive from Ratworks England. I will then play with the regulator/hammer spring settings to get to my performance goals of close to 18 fpe, 80+ shots per fill for Hunter Field Target competition.

Stay tuned.

Thanks,

TomImageImageImageImage

Wow, it's a beauty. You're a lucky bod Tom.
It looks BNIB, but what's with the arabic looking script beside the Wierauch name?
maybe old Turkish... as in not quite made in Germany? Or bought from overseas vendor?

Hi Duke,

Got it from Sniper Dan, really strange to have that Arabic letters on the breech. However, it is definitely German made.

2017/06 was printed right on the cylinder, I believe the gun was also produced at the same time.

Thanks,

Tom

Nice gun. I'm curious about the Arabic writing on the receiver. Maybe this batch was destined for middle eastern market? Anybody know what the writing means?

Hi,

I just ordered the FAC size cylinder body, will be using the current ends from the stock cylinder. Total cost with shipping and other charges come to around $240.

I have the special tools required to do the job myself from HW100 Tuning.

Here is the link for Ratworks : https://www.theratworks.co.uk/

Good luck,

Tom

Just received an update from UPS. My longer FAC cylinder from Ratworks will be delivered tomorrow.

I guess the money UPS gouged me is for the extra fast delivery.[emoji12]

Anyhow, when I switch over, I will update my tuning progress.

Thanks,

Tom

Hi Brian,

Thanks. Just one problem, It is so heavy! At 10 lbs, I would have a hard time in the standing/kneeling lanes.[emoji24]

My light FT guns weight 13 pounds. I really like the extra weight, especially for standing and kneeling.

Hi Mac,

For a little guy, I am so spoiled by my 8.8 lbs Diana Outlaw, hopefully the much lighter Ratworks FAC aluminum cylinder will save me 0.7 lbs off of the HW100, bringing it down to 9.3 lbs.

My favourite FT springer is my HW97KT, which weighs 11.1 lbs. It felt OK until I started shooting the Outlaw.

I must have an excuse for missing all those shots standing/kneeling.

Thanks,

Tom
