I actually just got my hands on one of these as well. It has been neglected too. My BlueBook of airguns has very little info on it.
Broad MV rating of 410 to 498 fps.

To remove the rust you will have to use a 300 to 600 grit sand paper or emery cloth and will have to redo the blueing process. Unless you want to polish it and go for the shiny look.

power: 7-7,5J
velocity: 150-170m/s
hand made, so every piece si original, therefore different velocities...
if you are looking for info, very much of them are on russians websites  for searching use "ИЖ 38"
if you want to change spring, you can use one for Gamo Hunter
or original:
spring lenght:
spring diameter: 19,5mm
wire diameter: 2,8mm
number of bends: 40

if you are looking for plans, you can see also for MP512 that comes from IZH-38, same specification for spring, power... just shape is a little bit different

I'm hoping to resurrect this thread, specifically the links to the manual. Have recently acquired many parts (hopefully enough for full gun) in a sale. Not too sure what they all are as I can't find the corresponding description for the exploded view. If anybody has this still, would be very much appreciated if you could post it!
Thanks,
Phil

Mine's a nice little gun to shoot, if a little underpowered. The last Chrony numbers I ran showed an avg. of about 370 fps (pellet weight not recorded, but probably rws domes). It would probably benefit from a lube 'n' tune, but I have enough projects...
