They're not seconds- they're just the 'retail' tins- not the brown-box specials.

Premiers are available in all models in tins from Crosman- whereas only the domed pellets are available in the brown boxes.

For anyone who cares, http://www.scopesandammo.com appears to be the cheapest source for Crosman pellets- but doesn't carry the boxed units at the moment: http://scopesandammo.com/storefront/index.php?cPath=24

seriously, i don't know why anyone would seek out crosman premiers..., there are so many better pellets on the market. take a bunch of premiers and weigh them on a precise scale, check them on a micrometer, they are horribly inconsistent. I'd suggest taking a look at jsb or haendler and naedermann pellets, you won't look back at the crosman garbage.

dinsdale, I weigh and sort my 10.5 gr .177 Premier pellets and shoot the 10.5 pellets in serious FT matches (like nationals) and the 10.4 and 10.6 pellets in the regular monthly matches. My match gun has a 25" HW barrel.

I have tried every JSB field target appropriate pellet, H&N Baracuda Match, Kodiaks, FTS, FTT, ... and none of them can match the performance of the Premiers. Maybe the .177s are better than the .22s, but my HW100 sure likes the .22 Premiers.

Different barrels prefer different pellets and my HW barrels like Premiers.

^ I think, once again and no thanks to Crosman, he is confusing boxed Premiers with tinned Premiers.

Why a company would want to take a name from a premium-priced product like boxed Premiers and associate it with lower quality stuff is beyond me. (Oh wait...Hammerli, Ruger, Walther, Beretta, etc. etc.) I can't see it doing any good. Not even the dumbest person would think Crosman is suddenly offering their best pellets for 1/3 the price all of a sudden. A bad marketing decision in the long term IMO.

Actually, looking over the SSS website and D&L- SSS either has a boatload of old inventory, or their online "stock" is BS. D&L is in-line with the new, raised price of Crosman pellets (by Crosman) and SSS has a pricing structure that is weeks out-of-date. Anyone try order a box from SSS at their $16.79 price? I'd be curious if they actually ship, or someone comes back with an "ooops, Sorry" comment.

$16.79 is the lowest I've ever seen in Canada, and is lower than many charge in the U.S. *now*. Still "expensive" IMO when compared to JSB Exacts, no reason to choose boxed Premiers over them (in .22) unless you have one of the odd guns that doesn't work well with them.

Ho YES Wal*Mart at the Dartmouth Crossing had 8 packs of 500 Crosman Competition .22
Last night I got 7 of them for $7.47 each.
They still have a bunch of .22 Hollow point for under $10

The $16.69 for the 1250 box of Premier .177 heavy pellets is even a better price that Mac1 in California is offering in his WLL (Whole Lotta Lead) Sale. Mac1 does ship free for orders over $100 to US addresses, but maybe I can work something out in Canada for a large enough order.

arent these .22 premiers?

Yes those are the PremeirsI buy these at Canadian tire. I also noticed that the .22cal. premier hollow points 500ct are cheaper that the same count of 500 of the .177cal. pellets and the pointed .22cal.
