Who here is interested in starting a FT club or group in greater Van. area?
I would like to see FT take off here, and am willing to work with others to get it going.
"work with others" means exactly that, I cannot build it entirely myself, but if a few of us get together, it should happen.

I have partially written an article about FT that will appear in a future issue of Can. Shooting Sports magazine
http://www.cdnshootingsports.org/

I will also be doing a review of the new Benjamin Discovery PCP gun by Crosman soon, hopefully in the same issue as the FT article appears.

Today I spoke with Mike at Specialty Shooting Sports in Langley about FT. He said that he does get people asking about FT, but as there is nothing set up currently, he cannot point them to a club.
So,...... lets start a club.
Mike said that he would help to make this a go, and kick in a few tins as prizes if we have an event.

I had a thread a while back on Ft also, but I didn't follow up on it, and I didn't focus on the Van. area.

That is great news, guys. Let us know if we can offer any assistance in setting up your get-together. Also, let us know the scores so that they can be posted here and in the US Field Target newsletter. It will also bring another club into the area where there are already three clubs (Washington state), and can lead to some inter-club competitions in the future.

Had a long session at the shop with Mr. Tootall this evening. 8) Very persuasive in his love of the sport(hobby). He has got me convinced that we can make a really good start into the sport of FT out here on the Wet Coast. I look forward to further shooting sessions with him. :supz: Will fill in between the lines when I have more time. So lets hear a little more from some of you locals, and get this show on the road. A great time to be had by all.
Thanks Tootall
Was a blast. :supz:

I had a great time at your shop also.
That is a fine collection you have!

I'm getting pumped about getting a FT group happening out this way.
As Randy says, lets hear from more locals interested in FT!

Sry to dig up an old post, but I would like to know how is the Field Target doing right now in the Lower mainland.

I would like to help to start up a club, and a few bucks too to buy some targets. 30 there 30 there, we should get a few bucks to start.

No need to apologize for replying to a post.
Anyway, where in BC are you? Somewhere in the Lower mainland, I suppose?
I am still hoping to get something going here.
A friend has a piece of property with a lot of bush in the back. He has carved trails in it for riding his ATV, so maybe I can put in some shooting lanes.
I also want to have a look at a gun club up the valley.
Send me a PM if you like

OOOH!!! I would totally be intrested in FT in lower mainland... but where would we be able to hold this without getting "heat" from the cops?

I was going to have a trial run at a friends place, but when he heard how much of a crack a typical PCP gun makes, he changed his mind.
I am now going to contact some of the gun clubs up the valley, to see if they have archery walking trails.

I am about to start building a few targets soon, BTW.
