With a majority of the votes in, the Canadian Airgun Field Target Association has been formally accepted into the WFTF. It was a goal that some of us have been after for a while, but needed a bit of a kick-start to get the ball rolling. There are 21 other member countries, and a few more that are in the wings getting ready to submit membership requests, so for those of you that may be visiting friends and relatives around the world, there may be a group of FT shooters around the corner, or in the next town. Each country can host the World Championships and a new hosting order is being officially drawn up. It may be a few years before Canada can host the match (we just joined and are at the bottom of the list), but if others cannot host it for any reason, the list moves ahead. It might only take twelve years, lol. Take care.

Yes, officially, it cam through this evening in an email from the acting Vice Chairman, Ron Carlson. I had, via "Reply to All" emails, already received a good number of the vote answers, but not enough to have made it official. At least one country, Russia, had trouble doing a large reply, and asked Ron to inform the rest of the members of their vote results. Canada should have been part of the WFTF from its beginning, and it is too bad that didn't happen, but there was no time like the present to fix that. The cat almost got out of the bag too far, a few days ago, lol.

congrats from us here in New Zealand, Don and the other Governors, and the active members involved in FT in Canada are part of something that will grow very fast from now on.

We hope to be shooting with you in SA in '09.....Ireland is not an option for us this year.

It was a bit of a process to get it thru was it not?.......but you got there in the end, and we send our best wishes.

GS
