A slight design change making the KZ his nose would solve that problem.... .... but increase the repainting problem....

should have clarified ... The Kill Zone is the 1/2" hole in his pompom which should be challenging for even the best of shooter at times.. :P
I left the reset post out of this pic, it goes in the hole on his lower lip...

Finally came up with a spool design to replace the awkward wooden ones I was using...
These are a lot more convenient, especially walking the strings back to the shooters platform after placing the targets... 8)

Now that is putting your thinking cap on. Great idea. Makes me want to upgrade my spools with the longer bolt and hardware.

Great design, I particularly like the portable drill for rewinding the string.... that avoids twisting the line.... 8)

The one problem with most spools is that people unwind by walking away (allowing the drum to spin).... but then rewind by holding the drum and winding the line around with their other hand.... That puts one twist in the line for each turn on the drum.... and eventually that causes the line to tangle.... If you manually rewind the drum, you MUST have an offset handle on the end or use a drill, etc. to turn the drum and rewind it the same way it unwinds.... OR you must always have the drum fixed (like a spinning reel) and both unwind and wind over one end....

Got some favorable weather that allowed me to work on a couple of projects that were on the go for some time now.
This FT has been tested and painted and is now ready for reassembly ..
