Port Colborne Field Target Club
We are pleased to announce that the season in Port will be extended for one more match. We have been discussing this and doing some informal planning for some time. Find the details below:

Hunter Field Target Match
Saturday, November 1, 2008
At the Port Colborne & District Conservation Club

This match will be shot under the current Hunter Division rules that have been in effect for most of the season. The rules can be found on the CAFTA website.
http://www.caftahome.com/NEWCAFTASITE/C ... 0Rules.htm

The match will consist of at least 60 shots and possibly up to 68 or 72 if the weather cooperates.

The times will be the same, with the gates opening at 8:00AM, the sight in range opening as soon as it is ready, shooter’s meeting starting at 10:45AM and the match starting at 11:00AM.

This will be the last full outdoor match of the CAFTA FT season. We will have Hunter Division awards as well as Junior Hunter awards. The number of awards will be based on the number of shooters that confirm they will be attending the match by Tuesday evening, October 28th. At least 50% of those attending will earn awards.

We have cut the cost of the match in half, so cost for adults will be $10 and for juniors it will be $5. As usual, for anyone who is participating at a match in Port for the first time, the match is free.

This will be a fun match and I hope to see everyone who has shot in a match before and any new shooters that want to get in on the fun.

Please send me a PM or email me as soon as possible to confirm that you will or will not be attending.

Dennis Eden, Chris Nicholson and Tim MacSweyn
Match Directors

I am too new to shoot. However, I am hoping that my schedule (wife & kid) allows me to make the trip to be spectator. I assume that this is OK? I am really looking forward to learning and getting involved!

Thanks!

Your first match is free. Think of it as just an afternoon out shooting with friends. It is a win - win situation - you could do much better than you anticipate - you could even win an award - I've seen it happen.

Best way to learn and get involved is by jumping in with both feet. Bring your gun and join us.

Being a spectator is perfectly OK, but a lot less fun.

I sure hope you will come on by. If you need directions or have any more questions, PM me. I will be happy to help in any way I can.

You are more than welcome to just watch. But you will likely have more fun shooting as Super has said.

The good news with this match is that is is a Hunter Division ONLY match. Half of the shooter that day have never even shot in the Hunter Division before. That should take the pressure off.

See you Saturday!

Glad to hear another new shooter is coming out! I was in your shoes just a few months ago. Definitely bring a rifle and shoot the match. After a couple of lanes you'll see how everything works and you'll be glad you're not just watching!

You've guessed it guys... I won't make this one, bit far to travel and I don't have my Pro Target back yet. Also filling a container full of fire kit to go to Paraguay.

Have a great time, wrap up warm and take loads of pictures...,

Hope to see you all next year though

Hey everyone,

I just wanted to thank everyone who convicted me to shoot on Saturday. I had a great time, met lots of good people and learned a great deal.

Hope to see everyone again soon!
