I was looking at that too. I guess they took then off the webpage, probably because it's small and concealable. They still have them in store if my local one is any indication. But the price of the one in Owen Sound was $129.95.

I will buy one from Sniper and still have enough for a steel breach with what I save. :D

They were $72 or $78 here in St. Catharines and labeled as 'Clearance'. I also picked up a 2240 for $46.96!!!!

2289 manufacturing was discontinued, however some CT stores may still have them and by luck you may get one at half price, on sale (I've got one - the last before last one in a CT store in North Van, BC - for $62.99 this March). Good luck!

According to that catalogue, it is the model 7781 that is discontinued.... at least that's the way I read it....

X2 Nothing confusing about that. 8) Wish it were though. Bought one on sale about 2 years ago during one of these the Sky is falling (no more 2289 ) scares. Still sitting in its unopened box. Waiting for crosman to cease all production in the year 2050. Swear someone on their payroll starts this shiit every 6 months or so to increase sales.

Uh, yeah- that would be the 781 that was discontinued. 'CrossCountryParts', no offense to anyone, isn't much of an authority on what Crosman is/isn't doing.

Merely because Canadian Tire isn't carrying a product any longer does not mean it is necessarily "discontinued" by the manufacturer- Canadian Tire is also no longer carrying the 2240, and it too is not discontinued.

Crosman could discontinue the 2289 at any time as it is only made for Canada and without Canadian Tire putting it on the shelf that may not feel there is a large enough market for it- but this is not a statement or a guarantee of such a thing.
