The car club I belong to talks about a place in Niagara Falls NY...

http://www.usaddressinc.com/mailbox.html

I have never used them but plan to if the need arises.

Let us know what you find...

It is good info to have when you find you need it!

I have ALL my stuff sent to a public shipping company in Lewiston N.Y I just drive there from Mississuaga and pay my $5 pick-up fee, and back home I go. It is Orion shipping, #210 S. Eighth St. Lewiston N.Y. 14092. I was just there yesterday, in fact!

VISA now offers a free service for VISA users called BorderLinx.

You can have the item shipped to a US address you set up with VISA, VISA then ships the item on to you - no charge.

Very cool, very new.

For those of us who live too far from a border to drive across it!

Apparently the service is not totally free from all the reviews that I have read. Sounds like it Costs more even than the the ripoff UPS charges . Heres are a couple of review examples from people that have used the system.

I tried Borderlinx for the first time last week – the product did arrive but the borderlinx charges where SO HIGH that it negated the reason for shopping on a US website in the first – I will not make that mistake again. If you use this service be prepared to double the price (at least!!) of the merchandise by the time you pay the borderlinx costs.

I agree with Rosie, I ordered a bed in a bag which cost me $32.02 can after taxes etc, to ship it to Canada it cost me $122.00, think that is totally ridiculous!

Well, online reviews are only as good as the people that write them. Can you imagine shipping a bed-in-a-bag (think of the size/weight!!!!) across North America! LOL, god some people are stupid. Anyway, you can check all the fees beforehand on the shipping calculator - so there are no surprises.

For example, a company I wanted a product from shipped free to the USA, but wouldn't ship to Canada. They shipped free to VISA, VISA charged me $36.00 to ship it to me (including brokerage and tax, and sent it courier - DHL) Total saving was 50% over purchasing the product down the street. Of course if it turned out to be too much - then I wouldn't do it... Its just another option.

This sounds promising as a few of the bad Linx reviews said this was quite a bit cheaper with no hidden costs like others.
