The second FT match of the 2009 season will be held at the PC&DCC, hosted by the Port Colborne FT Club. It will be a sixty shot match with five sets of awards. There will be Hunter Division, Piston Division with both Open and International and PCP Division with both Open and International. Awards will be ordered by Wednesday morning and will be based on the number of committed shooters I have at that time.

The gate will open at 8:00AM. Once the sight in range is set up, it will open, which is usually between 9:00 and 9:30AM. The sight in period will end at approximately 10:45AM and the shooters meeting will be held. The match will start at 11:00AM. The break after 30 shots should be long enough to fill guns and if you choose to, grab a bite to eat and drink. Ten minutes should be plenty of time.

After everyone has finished the match and scores have been tallied, awards will be presented. At this point, if time permits, more shooting on the sight in range will be available and targets will be pulled.

This notice will go out on the forums and also by email to anyone on the Canadian FT Shooters email list.

Please let me know by or before Tuesday evening if you will be attending and what division, and if applicable, what class you will be shooting in. Email is preferred, but PM is fine.

I look forward to seeing many of you on Saturday June 20th in Port.

The Match Directors at Port
Dennis E., Chris N. and Tim

Tim, I might be coming as well.. I might be bringing one of the kids from my Boxing club with me.. He's 14 years old and never shot a gun before.. He's always talking about these shooter video games he plays so I asked him if he'd be interested in trying real guns, well airguns.. He's going to talk to his mother and if she's ok with it I'll bring him along and supply him with a rifle.. Question I have is, because he's 14 is he allowed to shoot a pal rated airgun at the match under my supervision?

Under your supervision there is no problem. Hope to see you there.

Another great day at Port Colborne FT Match .....
It was raining for a little bit in the morning but no big deal, it stopped at noon.
I managed to beat my last score even the scope wasn't 100% set ....
and collecting another medal of the third place ....

Two better than one .... lol .....

I didn't think anything was going on today or else I would have come down.. I got up this morning and it was raining hard at my place, I didn't think there would be any match going on..

The kid I was hoping to bring (Cody) wasn't allowed to go  From what he told me, his mother wasn't too keen on him going.. Seems like she's one of those anti gun activists    I hate anti's :axe:

Glad you guys got to shoot, I'm disappointed I didn't make the drive out.
I got up early and the weather reports were still saying 100% chance of thunderstorms, 20-30mm of rain and winds at 20-30kph

I guess you guys do not check your email. I sent out that I had tarps suspended over every lane in case of rain and that the match was on, rain or shine. It rained early, but by the time the match started, we only had a few drops, mostly from the trees dripping. Turned out to be a great day for the 19 who participated.

A former shooter from Waterloo came a set up a table of the airgun goodies he had collected over the years. He had lots of good stuff. I picked up a TX200 MkII with a Tasco Custom Shop 10-40 all mounted and ready to go.

Short of a hurricane, I probably will not cancel a match again.

Next match is the Canadian Nationals in Waterloo on July 25th and 25th and the next one in Port is on August 15th. I hope people will not be intimidated by the NAME of the match in Waterloo, as the Canadian Nationals is just a ft match like every other match, except you shoot 60 shots two days in a row and a meal is provided on both days. How can that be bad?

Tim
