Hello All,

I thought I'd take a quick moment to let everyone know that I was fortunate enough to be elected as a CAFTA governor at this year's National's. I've only been shooting FT for 3 years now, and have fallen in love with it, and I'm glad to be able to give something back to this growing sport.

I still remember my first match: everyone was VERY friendly (to a fault really) and while I did all sorts of preparation for it, including purchasing a scope and rifle, I did this in a bit of a vacuum, without actually talking to another CDN FT shooter first.

While I had *most* of my logic right, I didn't have all of it right. If I'd been a bit more open and asked questions first, things would have gone even smoother (and saved me a few $$ in the process)

I was under the impression that this sport was a competitive sort of thing, as most sports are; with people keeping their hard earned knowledge to themselves- this couldn't be farther from the truth with the Canadian FT scene!

SO if you have any questions, ask away; if you're interested attending a match- please do so!

Meet the group and you'll see what a great day it is.

Fun, safe shooting and spending a bit of time outdoors really is the focus, hitting / knocking the targets over is just a byproduct!

Congrats Tom, I know you'll serve the position well..

2 Clubs in the Southern Ontario region and I sense a 3rd will be in play in the not so distant future...

If you discover the magic formula that can explain the steps necessary as to how folks can go about starting a club, please share it with all the air gun enthusiasts of this Great Country....8)

Awesome! I can truly see a day in the not too distant future where there will be clubs across the country! (except in the Peoples Republic of Toronto  )

Bring your own air rifles, the rule is that it should shoot under 20fpe to participate in say Hunter Division.... Hunter Division is a great way to start into the world of FT....
