Me and my buddies spent some time coming up with a variant of Tic Tac Toe. The rules may seem convoluted at first but they really make for an interesting game.

The Rules.

- Same as regular Tic Tac Toe, 3 up, down or across

- Each Square has and X and an O side. A square shot with X can be blocked by the opposing player by shooting the O. The square is considered to be whichever side has the most shots scored on it. IE if the middle square has 3 X shots and 2 O shots it is considered to be an X square

- Player 1 must declare his alliance to either X or O before his first shot

- Shots accidentally scored on the opposing players side of the square are scored for the opponent (shoot straight gunslinger)

- Player 2 always gets to go last and attempt to block the potentially winning shot as to keep shot attempts equal and to avoid any advantage to being first.

- In a situation where a player has blocked the other players final shot in a 3 in a row attempt the first player must shoot for a different square in a different line so as to avoid the 2 players just shooting the same square back and forth until someone misses. This forces players to use the whole target and use a bit o strategy in their shot attempts.

Well if you made it through all the rules and are going to give it a try, Enjoy. It was actually a lot more fun than I had thought and my buddies really enjoyed it. The games can go on for several rounds making for some exciting stand offs. If anyone wants to ad any rules feel free. :drinkers:

And do you use pistols or rifles?

Pistols or rifles would work just fine, you just need to set your distance accordingly. We shot with my Beretta scoped as well as with Iron sites last night. We made the target about as big as an official 10 meter target and shot from about 20 feet away. Basically you can tailor it to your ability as well as guns of choice. If you were to say use a scoped rifle you'd obviously want to up the challenge by playing further away. As long as both sides aren't so close as to hit their shots 10/10 times then your good to go. Missed shots are important as it adds to the excitement to know that you could win the game for your opponent with a badly aimed shot. That's what makes shooting the middle square a challenge as you could easily tag one of your opponents surrounding squares halves (you are actually surrounded! ).
