The 2010 World FT Championships will be held in Bank Hungary Next October 1st, 2nd, and 3rd. The Hungarian FT Rules can be found here:

http://www.vasnyul.hu/MFTSZ_FT_szabalykonyv_eng.pdf

As My wife is from Hungary and we have never been, you never know I may be able to talk her into a trip :D

This is all the info I have at the minute:

Rifles above 7.5 J energy are firearms in Hungary, but you can bring them in our country with the permit of the Hungarian Police.

We'll make a website for the Worlds at the end of this year. As non-EU residents, you should register on this website from February 2010, and you should give us the following data:
- your name,
- your address,
- place of birth,
- date of birth,
- number of your passport,
- make of your rifle,
- type of your rifle,
- caliber of your rifle,
- factory serial number of your rifle.
Based on this we will arrange the import permit at the local police station in Hungary.
This official administration will cost you additional 25 Euros above the start fee (which will be about 60 Euros), which you'll pay forward via bank transfer.
This permit and an invitation letter will be sent to you by post, and with this permit you'll be able to enter our country with your 16 J rifles.

When you arrive to Hungary you have to stop at the customs office, and show the following papers to the officer:
- this police permission
- the letter of invitation
- an official certificate from your country Field Target Association that your rifle is suitable for Field Target purposes, and that you are a Field Target shooter, and that you do not need any permit to legally possess this air file in your country.

When you leave, you also have to stop at the customs office, and provide the police permit, that will be taken from you.

Date: 1-3. October 2010
Place: Bánk (nearby Debrecen, 240 kms from Budapest to east

A website with regards to the 2010 FT Championships is in progress, and I will try to post it when it becomes available.

This point will make it almost impossible for anyone from Canada to go to the world's if im reading it right.

I questioned that wording myself by email to one of the organizers and this is his reply:

if you have a licence, you shall have an International Firearm Pass too, and with it and with the invitation mail you're able to hold in your rifle. But we'll have a website for the Worlds in some months and you'll find there all information about the rifle inporting

definitely some translation issues, but I think that the gist is clear.
