PS- I sold my drums (sorry Supr :( ) and I am replacing them with this FT gun

Thanks

Those are some pretty amazing rifles, I think I need to stay around the $1000 mark though. Just wondering if there is really any competition to the S410 in the same price range....

What type of barrels do they use? are they as accurate as an S410? Do they have adjustable power?

Also is there any difference between the HW100 T and the HW100 S besides their velocity?

More accurate then an AAS410 and better fit and finish.
They use HW barrels

If you do a search for ETA's HW100 post it has a lot of good info on how to adjust the power.

No difference in power from the HW100S/HW100T.

The 100T is the thumbhole stock.... the 100S is the sporter stock.... Both are available in different power levels.... They use a regulated system to produce a virtually flat shot string.... It has a 14 shot magazine.... AFAIK they don't have a dial to adjust the power as easily as the AA 410.... but I'm sure the info is available on how to tune it under the 20 FPE limit if necessary....

There are excellent tests on both the AA 410 and the HW 100 at Straight Shooters:

http://www.straightshooters.com/navagationpages/riflespcpselections.html

Check out their "Our Take" pages.... One thing I noted on a quick look was that the AA 410 started at 1035 fps and was under 1000 by about shot 20.... The HW 100 started at 1029 fps and didn't drop below 1000 until about shot 40.... (both in .177, shooting JSB Exact 8.4 gr)....

There are some other PCPs on that website as well....

Bob

For FT I would recommend an S400. With an S410 you'll need to get yourself a single shot adapter then load from the left side of the receiver. This can be annoying (or impossible) with a large sidewheel on your scope.
JMO...btw I have owned and shot FT with both an S410 and an S400 (I kept the S400).

Thanks, excellent info............
I do like the HW100, but it is also $300 more without power adjust-ability. I wonder how their accuracy compares???......

Sorry, but I don't exactly understand what you mean about needing a single shot adapter? Or do you mean just in regards to my side-wheel being in the 10-shot clips way??

The only place to be for AA related topics... http://www.airarmsownersclub.com/

Downside is they don't talk about power mods because of their UK firearm Law, other than that any question you can think of just use the search feature.
