What would be the minimum number of shots needed with a PCP to complete a round of shooting in FT without refilling?.... Is that what shooters usually do?.... I'm assuming that all sighting is done beforehand and the gun is refilled just before the competition starts....

That's how most folks shooting PCP would do it.

Most of the matches I've attended have been in the 60 shot range. Halfway through the match we generally take a 10-15min break. That's enough time to top guns up, have a snack and use the facilities. There are a few that fill their guns as they go along. Example of that would be someone shooting a QBxx topping up with a hand pump every 12th shot or so...

So a gun that produced a flat 70 shot string (ie regulated) would be perfect?....

There are occasions when you may have to shoot a shot into the ground...Cold line is required, unsure if the pellet was loaded into the gun, maybe a pellet was inserted backwards any of these scenarios will use up air...
I'd love to see 100 consistent shots with a single fill....

A gun shooting 70 regulated shots would certainly do the trick for an entire 60 shot match. As you said, everyone tops up just before the match starts , so that would take you right to the end and allow for shots blown off for cold lines, etc.

hmmmmmm.... a dead stock .177 Disco but with a 13 cu.in. bottle regulated at 1400 psi.... and an RVA to tune it to just under 20 FPE with heavy pellets....

topped with a 5-15 x 40 AO Bushnell Legend Mil-Dot.... I'm thinking Hunter Division.... 8)

Damn I wish there was FT in BC.... I need an excuse to build one....

That would be a sweet Hunter rig and if you did your homework with it, more than capable of taking a medal in that class!
Why don't you, Lauchlin, Scruffie and the rest of the BC crew plan on coming to the Canadian Nationals this summer? Rent an RV, pick up Randyhub, DocSharp and a few others on the way to Ontario and learn first hand how to set up and run a match?

what many people here do (including me) is aim for 40 shots, and fill at the half way point in the match. Others bring a bottle with them into the woods.

At the last Hunter only match, I shot my .22 Disco set for just under 20ftlbs, it was only able to get 12 good shots, so I lugged around my 4500psi 88cuft tank. That rifle needs to be properly tuned, as the fill pressure was only 1500psi to get this (any more and it was too powerful) so I think with a restricted transfer port, I could fill it to say 2200 or even 2500psi and more than double my shot count. That's the plan at least.
