Interesting design. Why not incorporate it ito and a barrel band with upper and lower picatinny rails

Walter: I'm too much of a free float barrel guy for that :)
I'm working on a more RIS-like design with rails on the sides as well, this will be for the longer tubes.

Time to wake this thread up! :)
I've been trying to have the mount manufactured, but at low volumes it has proved too expensive.
Any ideas are highly appreciated. Perhaps utilizing an available picatinny rail?

On my 2245 I drilled into the CO2 tube, tapped the holes and mounted a rail directly to the tube. I used liquid gasket on the screws to ensure no leakage, and ground the tips of the screws inside the tube to make them flush. http://i1079.photobucket.com/albums/w51 ... G_0310.jpg

That was an interesting build! I had to look twice to spot the Crosman underneath.
Yes, mounting it on the tube is probably the cleanest looking alternative, but I'm looking to make something less permanent, preferably clamp on.

I am working on one very similar It is a bit longer for a 2250. My next one will have the barrel band incorporated. I will post a pic of it later tonight.

Nice work Mike, you can take it on and off when you want. Mine is 1 piece.

Could it be done with a 3D printer. That might be a cheaper way for a small volume part.

For an FX Typhoon/T12 I made rings that fit the tube and then added an airsoft RAS.
This could be of interest for the longer, carbine builds like 2550 like you mention.

That has crossed my mind, not sure if it would be solid enough. Printing the clamp and then adding a alu-rail could work! (Just need to get the surface finish good enough)

Good input! Did you just guess what my winter project is? :)

Theres nothing off the shelf Weaver or Picatinny you could use. Whats currently available is from extrusion and all too shallow , ok for mounting direct on to receiver.

To make as piccied that would cost more than the pistol.
