I happened to be in Princess Auto today, and they have a HUGE spool of 2mm dia nylon cord for $29.99. The cord has no apparent stretch to it, and is really tough stuff. The spool is 8.5" dia x 6.5" wide, and I'd guess there is a couple thousand feet or more of that cord on the spool.

The cord is also heavy enough to use for hanging tarps, and other FT related applications. :wink:

I grabbed a spool for myself, so if any of the locals want to see a sample of it, just give me a call.

Thanks for the heads up! Where do you get the empty spools? I like Mac's system of the rubber mandrel...

I bought those spools from Brad Troyer years ago and have never seen them since. If you do find something like it, please let me know.
