Hi everyone. I have arranged for us to meet at the Mission Rod and Gun Club on the 14th of March 2010 at 12:00 noon for our first meeting. A paper-punching fun shoot is planned for afterwards at the 50M pistol range. See you there.

I think this is the time for the BC folks to start saying, "Great Job Morris. I'll be there."

Great job Morris! If I win the Lottery, I'll be there.

Tim

fatbastard: The last meeting was to determine interest in proceeding, and things went well enough for me to setup our first "official" meeting.
Mac: Thaks for the support Tim, I appreciate it! Hope you do win the lotto, cause I would like to meet you and hoist a couple :drinkers:

Everyone else in Vancouver: Get over your Olympic hangover and come out to the club!

First off, great job getting FT going out there!
I am curious though, why always refer to it as "AFT"? I don't think I've ever seen that before, and it may be confusing for others.

No, not American Field Target in BC Canada.

The correct country designations are:
In America: AAFTA (American Airgun Field Target Association).
In Canada: CAFTA (Canadian Airgun Field Target Association).

All recognized FT clubs in the USA are part of the AAFTA. All FT clubs in Canada will be part of CAFTA.

Individual clubs in the states/provinces call their clubs what they want. Generally their club names include the state/Province or city/town location, and either "airgun" or "Field Target" as part of the club name. The two in southern Ontario are "Port Colborne Field Target Club" and the "Waterloo Field Target Club". Associating location and purpose in the name.

So congratulations to Morris. I would like to get out to visit with you some time. I look forward to hearing of good growth out there. Let us know if we can be of any help.

I look forward to hearing what name you choose for your club out there. Historical time for Field Target in BC.

Chris

I've thought about it...I don't think there are any clubs on the east coast, let alone on PEI...I'm always more ambitious in theory rather than in practice, however :)

Many many years from now, a bunch of balding grey haired guys will be standing around as Canada hosts the World Field Target Championships saying, "I remember being a part of this when there was only a handful of clubs!"
Hats off to you bcgunner!

Hi Guys,

Its been a while since I checked back here on the CAF.
However, I just came across a newsletter from Mission R&G, and noticed a very brief mention about FT, so had to check here to see whats up.

So its going to happen! Right on! I'll certainly try and make it out to the charter meeting.
I am not a member of Mission (I belong to Ridgedale, so do have insurance), do I have to pay the $20 day fee for the airgun shoot you mentioned?

Cheers,

Dean

If you EVER owned an air-gun or NOT and you live IN or AROUND British Columbia, then THIS IS IT !!! The GROUND FLOOR ... the NEXUS of what can be a truly rewarding pass-time for novice & EXPERIENCED shooters alike. - Perfect to train the Youngsters ! -Family Fun !

Hop on the proverbial bandwagon while ya got opportunity a'knockin' - ( Not the one to whistle-er 4 the annual FUNGUS hunt, NO, this is DIFFERENT & even BETTER than GOLF or Three-legged-Races at CHURCH PIK-NIKS )

B'in THERE, D'un THAT - :|

Anyway, I digress, ... Carry On Guy's ! Keep at it & it will prove to be good fun in the long range for all who participate. 8) :D
