When shooting a 10 meter paper target using my pistols with red dot mounted, I place a reinforcement over the 10 ring ( the kind that you put over the holes in a sheet of paper going into a 3 ring binder-just like school days). Then I fill in the center with liquid white-out fluid.
I focus my red dot easily on this rather than a vague black ring. It is nice to see from a distance that the white area is gone which means you have hit the center more often than not!

I like these:

You can buy them on sale at LeBaron's for under $4. Even domed pellets will cut nice holes in them and I get good use out of each one by shooting at different aiming points (the printed numbers). At less than 4 cents a card, they're a lot less hassle.

I like the Gamos because the holes are so clean in them. I aim for the numbers in the white bull and on the outside white, then the center. It is important in FT to be able to shoot at a round area, as that is what we do every shot.

I like sticking a bright yellow map pin in the dot center and shooting until it disappears. The ring binder reinforcement will add a new dimension to it by making it clearer when I come horse-shoes-hand-grenades-and-government-work close........
