I would like to congratulate the Canadian shooters who drove down and competed in the U.S. National Field Target Championships this past weekend. CAF board member Mac had a strong showing in his division as did keyrigger who also came second in his pistol F/T division. Board member pirellip came 2nd in International Piston beating out many other experienced competitors! Way to do us Canadians proud gentlemen!

Thanks Windbag and Parker. George Harde also received the plaque for fourth in International Piston. It was great to have three out of five Canadians attending bring home awards.

It certainly was a great time connecting with friends and making new ones. It seems that at FT matches, once introduced, folks get along like they have known each other for a long time. Hard to describe the atmosphere without attending.

The worst part is the end and having to say goodbye again to friends you will probably not see until the US Nationals next year. I hope more Canadians will make the trip down to Tennessee to shoot in Roz's back yard. Just an amazing venue and to have it in your back yard, wow!

I think someone who did the math on the team scores was a little tired. The score they gave us was 379, but I am quite sure it is 359, which would place us fourth. Still pretty good, I think.

Thanks. George was only 3 shots behind me in fourth. The 1st place shooter pulled away in the 1st day, shooting 7 better than me. George was 1 up on me then too, it was super windy and I need more practice in the wind, plus my scope knob came loose and I lost zero for 6 points. 2nd day wasn't as windy, some guys shot really well, others had a tough time.

But in the end it was a lot of fun, I'm really glad I did it. Next year it's in California I think, so I'll be abit more difficult to get to.

Now it's time to start my 10m pistol training..

Next year's US nationals are in Tennessee at Roz Sumpter's place on the first or second weekend in October. The Worlds were held there in 2007 and it is a super course. I am looking forward to it already.
