i m doing this to my tanfoglio too this week , i have a problem too , i have to figure how to reassemble it , beacause when i take it appart to sand it , i may reassemble it wrong after and the hammer wont stay in armed position ... i pull the slide back and release it , but the hammer stays like uncocked ...., i found that the tanfoglio is more complex than the GSG 92 to reassemble ...... so now i have a nice polished puzzle , do you plan to polish this babe ? you HAVE to :D !!!! with my wood grips its crazy cool looking

by the way , nice job ....! :D

STILL HAVING PROBLEMS ASSEMBILING YOUR TANFOGLIO WITNESS??
I'M A PRO WITH THE WITNESS NOW,... I'V DISSASEMEBLE ANY PEICE THAT IS POSSIBLE TO REMOVE. I KNOW IT INSIDE AND OUT.....
I HAVE A GSG92 AS WELL, AND THAT IS WAYYY TO DIFFICULT WITH ALL THE SPRINGS AND AND SWITCHES.( IM NOT TALKING ABOUT FIELD STRIPPING, I'M TALKING ABOUT THE WHOLE, PIECE BY PIECE.)

MY PROBLEM IS THAT I LOST A SMALL PIECE AND THE SPRING WITH IT. NOT SURE WHAT THE NAME IS. NOT SURE WHERE TO FIND ONE... IF I CAN'T , I WILL SELL PARTS OF MY TANFOGLIO WITNESS..

HERE IS A PIC OF THE PIECE I AM MISSING.. IT IS IN THE HAMMER HOUSING ON THE INSIDE OF THE HOUSING CAP.

Have you seen the parts diagram from KWC I posted? Have a look at it, maybe it can give you the parts number you need http://www.cybergun.com/media/358003__067413800_0951_09062011.pdf

Hi everyone!!

I've been absent from the gun scene for months now...had a few curve balls tossed at me by life, so...hobbies have taken a back seat.

Glad to see this thread is still going. Has anyone found a good rail and compensator to fit these?

A rail like this?
Image

Sorry, it's not my pistol but an image that I borrowed from the Replica Airguns website;
http://www.replicaairguns.com/storage/thumbnails/7262430-13015212-thumbnail.jpg?__SQUARESPACE_CACHEVERSION=1309636518067

But I haven't found any for sale anywhere. Likely you'd have to shop in the handgun stores for something to fit a 1911 firearm.

Haven't yet found a compensator for a 1911.

Thats pretty cool!

I wonder how hard it would be to modify the contour of the compensator so it blends in with the lines on the slide?

Does that place take paypal?

the compensator is made of aluminum so i don't think it will be to hard to make the lines match, yes that place takes paypal

Not sure if it fit on our airguns.

Im gonna disappear from the forum for a while....I was the middle car in a 3 car pile up on the highway at 2am today...my 2012 stang is a write off....thanks to a drunk the hit me from behind at high speed. :(

Making sure I dont get shafted by the insurance companies and getting everything back to normal is going to be taking all my time for a while.

Hey all! I recently got the Tanfoglio Witness 1911. What a beautiful gun it is!

I am also wondering if there are any modification to it apart from the grips.
I tried to do some research and find out if there are other identical parts that can be replaced. Does anyone knows if I can put a real Slide Catch lever from a real colt, on the tanfoglio? I have found a lot of them for a bout 10 bucks on eBay, but I am not sure if they will work with the air version.

I say for 10$ it's worth a try! If it doesn't work you can always put it back on eBay for the same 10$ or maybe file or dremel it to make it fit.

Be sure to check if you can order and have firearm parts shipped to you before buying.

Thanks for the answer. I guess I will take a try. I just watched a full disassembly of the Tanfoglio on YouTube, and it looks like it got a LOT of identical parts.
Here is the video for any of you who wants to take a closer look:

With explanations: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=olkMIATlF_c
Sped up version: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tpsL4PT078w&feature=plcp
And a little bonus, how this gun looks like when it is fully polished: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0u7LZ04MwY0&feature=plcp
(though, I personally don't like the metal to reflect like a mirror :D)

Gun Parts PDF: http://www.taoistmasterblog.com/wp-cont ... 1parts.pdf

BTW, that guy is from Markham, Ontario.
