I am a bit late, when I saw the first post I was happy I was going to be able to save you your laptop.

If you have issues with Windows in the future, find and install a Linux operating system, many to chose from, almost all free. They are free and 10 times better than Windows, come with everything you need (all the extras windows charges for like office, burning software etc, all included and free). Since I gave up on Windows I don't think I have had to reboot my computer unless it was due to installing something or I go away ion vacation. The thing just goes and goes no slowing it down. I used Ubuntu.

I keep one computer running Windows, but that is only so I can run my GPS and mapping software and MAGICJACK. Other than that, windows is dead to me.

But then again, shooting stuff is much more fun than learning the Linux system.

I love Linux. I have a port of FreeBSD on my server. Use my windows laptop to send it commands and manage the file server. Anyone with a PS3 should use this system. OS is called FreeNAS (Network attached storage). I add all my pictures, movies and music to a 1TB USB drive attached to the server and listen/watch them on my PS3.
