i have a daisy 953 that i have only taken out of the stock.
i have heard they are easy to work on. i would like to lighten up the trigger spring.
is there anything i should know first?
how hard did you find putting this gun back together? (i can take anything apart  )

thoughts, flames, omissions, advice???

They are relatively easy to disassemble. Make sure you read the schematics before you start and always keep small screws and parts in a container.

While you have it open, you should fill in the pump cup cavity with epoxy and let it set. After putting it back, you will gain 5-10fps

too late!!!
tore it down today. i was very nervous. it's nothing like the quest or the 13xx 22xx platform.
i clipped the trigger spring and the sear spring a little.
the trigger is still not as light as my quest but i did shave a bit off the trigger pull.
i managed to get it back together again without any major heartache. but it is a little figidity.

thanks for the advice though!!

ps- i didn't fill the cup as a read one person took his past the 500 mark with the cup fill mod. thanks for the idea though. may look at doing that down the road once i get it over a chrono to get a base line first. but i heard 10-15 fps. go figure.

thanks for the responses.

Don't worry too much about the triggers, they smooth out with use.

After the filling the pump cup, you should expect 490fps with 7.9 grain pellets

How long did it take to disassemble and do the trigger mods? I just got the 953 a couple days ago and thinking of doing the trigger sear deburring after I get the work bench cleared off,.
