CAFTA, as an organization, is not in the business of offering opinions on people that work on guns or shooters who participate in CAFTA sanctioned matches.

As the Chairman of CAFTA, I do not send PMs, emails or make calls to people to offer opinions on individuals involved in the air gun sports. As a private individual, apart from my involvement in CAFTA, I have offered advice, based on personal experience, on who I believe is qualified to work on certain guns or give advice to individuals who prefer to do their own work.

The reason I am stating this is due to the fact that some individual or individuals are using email, PM and even bogus website links to “warn” people about certain air-gunsmiths and FT shooters they have differences with. That in its self is bad enough, but the CAFTA name is also being used in these messages to give them credibility and some even claim CAFTA as the origin of the message.

If you get these messages, please be aware that CAFTA has nothing to do with them. We are an organization that was created to promote the sport of field target and air gunning in general. These messages certainly do not do anything positive for the air gun community or the sport of field target.

If you receive one of these messages that claims CAFTA has sanctioned it, and it seems real, please do not hesitate to drop me an email or a PM to verify authenticity.

Tim MacSweyn
CAFTA Chairman

CAFTA Governor
