The problem with a lot of forums is the idea that someone with a low post count is automatically a "red flag". Just because someone posts a lot doesn't make them automatically a better seller just as someone who just recently found a forum, with no post count doesn't automatically make them a high risk. How many of you have purchased things off Craig's list or kijiji? There is no "post count" there. The mentality of ignoring "newbies" simply because they are new is one thing I hate about forums. Not pointing fingers at anyone in particular here, this applies to every forum I've ever been a member of. I recently tried to buy an airgun on CGN and after the seller replied to my first pm he has since ignored all subsequent Pm's, and has bumped his for sale thread numerous times. Aggravating. Oh well he can keep his gun and I will give my money to someone else.

I am looking for good places to buy used airguns. This forum is not it, I had one guy refuse to sell for "shipping included" fair enough, but then he went and sold well below the price of shipping included (meaning he lost money) without contacting me to re-offer it. Then another guy backed out of a confirmed deal.

I am looking for a place with honest sellers. I bought from Kijiji but they are anti-airgun so ads get deleted sometimes before you can find them. eBay is anti-weapons. So do we have any pro-airgun used sales websites out there?

Are you kidding you been here a month and now your bad mouthing this forum cause you say you had two bad deals .I have bought and sold dozens of airgun on this forum for years and never had that much trouble .we have a feed back section on the forum its for bad or good seller or buyer did you post any there or just posted here that were all dishonest your post makes this forum sound bad there is many honest seller and buyer here you just grouped ever one here as dishonest

I have had nothing but great experiences both buying and selling on here. Same on Gunnutz.com.

If you live in Canada, you are subject to the laws of Canada regarding airguns.

They are onerous and painful.

This site has many experienced individuals who are selfless in their time to help
other members in pursuing this interest in airguns.

In the CAF I have found humour, informed information and trust that comes in
a small community such as this.

In this country CAF is the best place to buy or sell airguns and accessories by a long shot.

I find the people that have problems on here dont pay attention or dont do a little research before buying.

I have bought, sold, and traded close to 100 guns from this site in the past few years. Never a bad transaction. Why???? Because I take the time to check out the sellers posts, google any info I can find on them, and go as far as call the person. If someone wouldnt give you a phone# to call them or other basic info, pass on the deal........its really that easy

dyslexic_nam, your post is all good advice that I have used in my transactions. I just had a third back out of a deal on here. The ratio of bad deals here is much higher than any of my 20 other forums.

As other's have stated, some people only look at thread count. I also look at what the sellers say to me in PMs. Do they respond in a timely manner (2-3 days, not weeks between PMs), can they form a proper sentence, can they give clear answers, etc.

I have also worked as a wholesaler for over 8 years so I know all about shipping products of all sizes.

Why not post the user names and copies of the PM's between you guy's.

Worst out of 20 forums you say. We will certainly endeavour to improve that rating.

Over the years, I have bought hundreds of guns on this forum and never had any issues, the way that you are having. :? You seem to have had an inordinate amount of problems, attempting to buy used airguns, especially, considering the very short time that you have been a member here. Does make one wonder if all the issues were with the seller??
Checking into your history I see that one deal fell through because you could not come to agreement with the seller as to who would pay shipping. The seller then sold the item to another buyer
No foul there in what I can see. I'm selling to you and your still knitpickin over shipping? In my world you haven't bought anything yet.
If you give me the details on these other deals of yours that fell through I can check into them, and where seller has been found to have screwed up. I can then address the issue with them. We are more than willing to help with any grievance that you have.

I again will state, YOU CAN'T WIN THEM ALL. Like many members, I have bought several used airguns from other members on this forum with extremely satisfying results. Just over the Xmas holidays, I bought 5 airguns (lost 2). f the member is asking a fair price with fair shipping, you can inquire, but don't argue. If pickup is an option, go for it. I myself only ask ONCE if shipping or price could be altered. If the answer is "NO", then I determine 'is the airgun worth that plus shipping?' Do your homework. Check new price + shipping + tax and determine if it is a good price. I also have lost some because the seller has multiple airguns for sale, and if they get an offer from another member to buy 2 or 3 or whatever (even if someone has inquired about 1), it makes sense to me that a seller would rather send multiple purchases to one person than 3 to separate members. If you have ever sold an airgun, it is a PITA to wrap several boxes with one airgun and just as easy to wrap 2 or 3 or ? in one box. Also, less expensive for shipping. Shipping costs are getting higher. I work for a company that sends several hundreds of orders per day, so we get a decent deal. But, on a 1 on 1 with the post office or whatever, you can't 'eat' that cost. I'm getting long winded here, but do not judge this whole forum on a couple of deals that you didn't get. This IS the best airgun forum you can find for buying used airguns and accessories. PERIOD!

P.S. Forgot to mention. 3 of the 5 airguns i got over the Xmas holidays were from my 'WANTED TO BUY' posts. And, some of the posts were dated. So, that proves, that members on this forum even look at the WTB section. That you won't find on every forum. And, a couple of purchases are not super active members. But, they looked, and I really appreciated that!

Bart

I have a confession about one thing I enjoy in sort of a twisted way, and that is reading the grilling and comments that some posters have to endure. I would have thought a moderator would kick in and speak up about interfering with peoples sales.

This forum is great for airguns - for other guns, you might want to look at a specialised firearms buying/selling website.
