I'm interested in starting to do shoot FT shooting and like the idea of MonthlynFT matches.. They sound like they should be good fun and I'm just wondering a little about them. How many people usually come out? (once the weather doesn't suck). I guess that means are there enough people that nobody will notice that I can't hit the broad side of a barn for the first few times out...
I'm waiting to pick up an HW97k once I finish getting my expired PAL renewed. And probably something like a 6-24 scope. I guess that would mean Hunter Class? Is that scope magnification okay if I just keep is set at 16x?
Anything else I should know?
Thanks!

Welcome. Come on out, and enjoy! There are normally anywhere from 6 to 12 shooters at our monthly event. Don't worry about your shooting abilities, cause it's all about having fun and learning. Look forward to meeting you. Next shoot is the 24th of this month.

Hi BCGunner, thanks for the welcome and reply! I guess I'll be there for March as I have a bit of waiting to do...

I let my PAL expire and after calling this morning it's going to be 2-3 more weeks for it to be printed and mailed. AND I'm waiting for D&L to get their Weihrauch order in which will be late Feb...then I'll pick up an HW97Kt. I guess it'll be like Christmas in early March for me. Now to decide on a scope. Seems like the longer I wait, the more I keep upgrading the scope I want for it. I started off thinking Hawke Eclipse 30 4-16 but now I'm thinking 8-24 Sidewinder...

Any comments on scopes for an HW97Kt? Really going to be 98% for targets and 2% for starlings/crows etc.

Thanks,
Zak

I put a Leapers 3-12x44mm AccuShot SWAT on my HW97KT and have been quite happy with it. It has only had several tins fired through it but so far, so good.
