Literally a bolt on mod. ;P

I took a 6" bolt from Home Depot and made a spring guide extension mod.

Hope you like it,

The bolt was cut to length so it just reaches the front when the slide is closed.
I drilled a hole in the head of the bolt, then using the original spring retainer as the template, I spun
the bolt in my Mico Taig Lathe until it looked the same, the diameter of the bolt and original spring retainer are only .01 different.
A little bit of polishing and then I installed it in place of the original.
It requires drilling a hole in the spring retainer at the front of the frame, I used the spring as a guide to try and center the drill bit in the middle, first try was a bit off center.
It's a tight fit and takes a bit of wiggling to get it in but overall it adds to the looks of the gun, especially with the barrel polish mod.

I'm sure it doesn't add any strength to the slide mechanism as it's not really attached to the frame but a trip to the range may show some improvement in groupings. Sort of like when your car seems to runs better after a car wash.

Gun was bought from the forale forum here.
Grips are from ebay taiwan, had to dremel them a bit to fit.
Laser is from
trigger mount and rear sight mount weaver rails are from Greg at in Ontario.

If I die, tell my wife how much my guns really cost.
I only buy it if it can be modded.
