Have you got a copy of the "Book". Don't degas by dry firing it can damage the valve stem. I haven't degassed mine yet but I am going to try to do so by pressing the striker against the valve stem by pushing with a dowell as I've seen done on utube to an edgun when the owner was installing a depinger. I have taken the spare o-rings that came with the gun to a supplier and we were able to find the same sizes and in better quality than the original.

Would shoot it down (even if only "most" of the way) if I were doing it. Would think this shouldn't be an issue if you're wanting to reseal it anyway...probably leaking.

To degas the B50/51 you crack the fill nipple and let the air escape slowly.
Original stems are typically weak and the stem punches through the plastic.
Ill get you a link from the Chinese forum.

Walter.....

Edit.... looks to be a great resource for all things B50/51

That was a good link with writeup Walter, thanks. I tried some of the 18.2 and 19gr. Barracudas and they shot VERY well in my Bam 51 - perhaps better for a longer string, than the lighter 14.3g. Crossman HP's. the Hunter's with the X in the nose, were the best, at just over 19gr.
