Was taking a closer look at the sear engagement window on the QB79's trigger box earlier this morning and noticed all the pre-travel in it. I was wondering if you could mill, with a ball nosed end mill, a "window" to view the hammer/sear engagement of the 22XX guns? It would have to be in the .875" main tube and I think It might structurally weaken it especially if your running HPA!!

Am I out to lunch thinking I need to see this to get a better trigger job? (I have only had three hours sleep!)

Thanks for any feedback!!

A hole drilled in the side of the tube would not be a structural issue, as you are only in the hammer section.... However, make sure to properly and completely deburr it, you don't want the hammer to hang up.... I assume you are doing the "three screw" mod to a Disco/2260 style rifle trigger?.... or are you talking about setting the sear engagement on a 2240/50 pistol type trigger?.... That's a bit trickier....

Personally, IMO the best setup for that is to purchase the trigger group from a PRod.... It is a drop sear design, fully adjustable for 1st and 2nd stage and pull weight.... The only problem is that you also have to change the hammer, as the waist in the 22XX style hammer will hang up on the sear and you won't be able to cock the gun without holding the trigger back.... Some people just fill in the waist with JB weld, I've never tried it.... You will be AMAZED at how nice the PRod trigger is....

I was talking 2240/50 in my first post.

I have seen the drop-in adjustable sear on scopes and ammo. Just haven't seen anyone talk about using it or pictures of it installed anywhere?

I can make a new Hammer Bob. I make my living being a machinist. Yes, I know all about deburring! I probably spend 2-3 hours a day deburring the parts I make at work, in my 12-14 hour shifts! I will look at this P-rod trigger you are talking about.

I couldn't reply to your PM's Jim? You have something switched off?
Would you mind posting that here? Or a link to it would be great! I got an adjustable sear this week from TKO. Will install it when I am back from vacation on the 22nd.
