Thanks guys, you get the idea I'm going for. I will be stripping it back to metal cause of the issues with the clear. Don't think the clear is compatible with this stainless paint. Ran about 50 pellets through it, she's a loud one.. cool to get it back together. Still need to mount the grips and give them the final gloss. When I finally get it done I will pick up a red dot...

Hey, nice job on that .357. I've been busy with other things lately so I haven't been super active on the forums. Regardless, try just stripping all your paint off and then polishing the frame and barrel. I think you will be pretty happy with how it turns out.

Keep up the good work, everything looks very very nice so far. Quality work you have there.

Hi cdnairgunner! Thanks for the support! Means a lot.. funny you mention that cause that was my plan, to try polishing and if that did not work I would just paint it again. I think your rite cause when I was wet sanding one spot went to metal and it became very shiny just from 400-600 grit wet sand. Can it look like polished aluminum or?

The white metal on these ends up looking something like polished aluminum or chrome. It's hard to explain. If you wetsand and then polish these things look amazing. I generally just strip and polish to save time, but it's worth it if you wetsand it first. You will need to re-polish it every so often since it will oxidise, but it only takes a second with autosol or whatever. Most of my guns are all polished, it's a lot easier to maintain than paint.

Nice job. Bought one in the 80s and showed it no respect. Own the most current version and still love shooting it.

A new gem has been revealed among us. By the way, the year is actually 2013.

i had this pistol many years ago and sold it...
til about a year or so ago found it here on the forums for sale and grabbed it again.

i regretted selling it and wont make that mistake again!
even though its not high up on the muzzle energy, its fairly accurate and well...just fun as hell to use.

So you bought the exact same gun you previously sold?? If so that's cool! Wish I could go back and buy my first car, along with some other things. lol

Any idea what fps your .357 is shooting..?
