 Post subject: hw45 maintenance

i have a new hw45 black star in .22cal. about 200 pellets through it in a week and i was wondering what kind of maintenance i should be doing. so i need to oil or lube it?. have any suggestions on cleaning kits and kind of oil to use for barrel cleaning.

Shoot it is my recommendation. Clean the barrel when the accuracy starts to decline, some olympic shooters never clean their barrels, so if it's good enough for them...
The piston will squeak to tell you it needs to be lubed. Don't worry about it, just shoot the thing.

Each year I add a dab of white lithium grease into the front hinges. But really sparingly. Like Doc said don't bother with cleaning the barrel. In the worst, you may damage the rifling.
