Just given a 177 cal older air rifle. Its a break barrel with a lever release to open the barrel. Stamped " made in USSR", do not know age but serial # is E28179. I am guessing its from the 70's. This one would not cock properly but i found the problem, there is a bracket that is broken off in under the stock, its the one that the trigger guard screws too. Will get it welded and add to my collection. Its nice when its "free"!

It is a 38 but i do not see the Vostok name, it has what looks like a MK-38 then a symbol that looks like a shield with an arrow in it.

I have one of these as well, they are older, have leather seals in them. Not a great gun, but I will always keep mine as I shot it when I was 6yrs old

They are a cool time piece with the "Made in USSR" stamped into it

Does it look like the one in my signature?

The translation is IZH-38.

Had mine given to me as well.

They are typical of Russian stuff from back then. Soft steel and guiltless
Reminds me of the black 22rf ammo they sent us mid 70s

Have two of them both POS

They are great for kids, I'm keeping mine for my son. He's only three right now, so he's still got a few years to go. I made a new leather seal for mine, I may be able to do something for your if interested.

I got mine in a trade or bundled with something I bought.
Not sure if it works or not...

You can’t buy a single airgun for everything. Golfers use many different clubs, airgunners need more than one gun

I didn't realize so many people had this one.

Any idea what the mainspring length should be? It looks as though the one in mine is broken.

You 'fire' it without a pellet?
