Looking for a bit of help here guys. This is what I have so far, a modded disco tube with a forward mounted and bottom firing valve, side cocking knob, with a long lightened hammer linked to a steel piston/hammer face. The valve has a tiny hole at the rear to let air pressure force the piston and hammer back, and tiny bleed hole in tube to relieve piston pressure once the hammer is pushed back far enough that the sear would engage. Why a bottom firing air valve you ask? well my idea is to mount a barrel under the tube with a linked open bolt so I can use a stick mag for 22 cal lead BB without the tube in the way. I would like some advise and ideas on if this should even work first of all, and some design ideas for the link from bolt to hammer and also the design of the mag. I dont want full auto really, but semi would be good if i can get the gun to recock and hold the hammer with each shot. I am working on a steel trigger frame/grip/buttstock for a bit of SMG feel to it. In the vid, the gun is just partially charged enough for 2 quick bursts, but I hope I can get it to work with a trigger pull for each shot. Suggestions? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wzH9ELNd ... e=youtu.be

mounted a .22 cal barrel and a makeshift breech/bolt tonight and did a few test shots and got it to shoot once per trigger pull, was around 360fps but i had no seal under the transfer port 8)

i didnt see your post til now . i was a lil confused about the bottom barrel but i think i understand .
the biggest problem with the hammer being blown back will be the air blowing back to the mag' . im betting it would mess with the pellet loading .
also you will have recoil difference which will skip the pellet loading . to get best result you should go with extra length for the probe pushing the pellet /hammer . if you have 1/2''+ of movement of the probe backwards before the seal to the barrel stops, it would help
looks like it is cycling is pretty good tho , a good semi trigger design is hard to get for pellet guns .

some more progress, i did get semi auto blowback action, with a max speed of a 22 cal pellet of 424fps. still need lots of parts and wood bits made and am thinking of just making a repeater out of it and not sacrificing so much for the blowback, we'll see.
