greetings

last summer, there was a post on here about how to take off a metal front sight, its one of those old types where a "V" notch has been been made in the barrel and the sight is just press fit into it, i made a search for that post but can't seem to find it on here, can anyone help, or maybe give a description on how its done, thanks

So what's the purpose? Do you want to remove your old sight and replace it?
Likely you'll destroy the a plastic sight if you use heat or chemicals.
But apparently you're dealing with a metal sight on a metal barrel. A curious problem indeed.
Maybe a propane torch?
