Today I tested the slingshot hammer with C02 and with a stock spring. Using H&N 13.2 gr pellets. also The gun had a 14" barrel as apposed to the 18" barrel on the HiPac gun. There might be a few more fps if using an 18" barrel. Here are the resullt,s.
Stock spring...494, 499, 498, 526, 538, 531, 530, 540, 532, 531, 534, 531, smaller TP...460, 464, 466, 470, 466, 462, 464, 464, 470, 462, 460, 466, 469, 465, 457, 455, 449, 444, I stopped there as I figured under 450 fps were not useable shots and there were probably only 4 or 5 more before dropping below 400 fps anyway. The total # was 28 shots. avg speed 476 fps. 6.6 foot pound energy. Since the large TP put the first 10 shots over 500 fps, I ran a second string with a new cartridge......453, 451, 494, 489, 497, 495, 487, 458, 465, 496, 496, 496, 495, 497, 496, 486, 478, 485, 483, 479, 480, 478, 474, 469, 469, 467, 462, 461, 456, 454, 450, 452, 447, below 450 six more shots it went below 400 fps....33 shots...
avg speed 481 fps equals avg 6.78 foot pound,s energy.
Next I tested using the slingshot hammer.... 475, 473, 474, 478, 479, 477, 473, 471, 472, 475, 477, 476, 478, 478, 476, 469, 468, 470, 460, 455, 459, 470, 461, 462, 465, 464, 461, 475, 474, 470, 469, 468, 462, 469, 464, 468, 470, 466, 470, 473, 473, 465, 470, 469, 471, 469, 456, 449, 449, the next 4 shots dropped fast. So....total good shots..49.. avg speed 468 fps...avg foot pound energy..6.4 . What is most interesting about this string is the flat shot string. Except for 5 or six shot,s which I blame not waiting long enough between shot,s using C02 the extreme spread was about 10 to 13 fps avg.
here,s a couple of pic,s of my chrony set up. It,s about 3 feet away and 4 or 5 inches above the sensor. The pic shows the 2240 with the HiPac gun mounted in the holder, but the C02 gun was in exactly the same place for the test.

I did one more test. This time using the slingshot hammer I left the small transfer port in.
460, 470, 473, 473, 477, 463, 472, 473, 473, 464, 476, 464, 472, 471, 473, 479, 473, 475, 473, 471, 474, 476, 476, 477, 480, 483, 477, 476, 477, 480, 481, 472, 479, 480, 476, 473, 477, 471, 474, 477, 473, 473, 476, 476, 473, 465, 451, 440,
total 48 shots avg speed 472 fps and avg 6.5 foot pound energy.Take most of the number,s in a 5 shot group and the extreme spread is no more than 4 or 5 fps.The point of impact was under 1" at 16 yard,s. I forgot to mention the ambient temp. today in my shed was +6 C.I did have a small heater running, using C02. I wonder what the numbers would be at +26 C
And the bonus. It,s all nice and legal.
Next test using the slingshot hammer using C02 with the .177, 18" barrel. But not today. Cheer,s.
