I am Canadian and want to keep my Crosman 1322 under 500fps. I have the hollow probe, steel breech, barrel band and 18 inch barrel. Anyone have any idea where I might be right now? I don't want to spend $120 on a crony.. I am planning to shoot only 14 grain pellets Thanks yalll :D

Afraid you need to borrow a Chronograph then! Exceed 500fps and you could get in trouble!
You'll use the chronograph more then you think you will! Every time you make a small change to a gun you want to see the affect! Chronograph is the only way to document that!

Yes, I agree, the chronograph is a good investment.

The longer barrel does boost the pellet speed. The hollow probe didn't make much of a difference to my 2240 setup, maybe 10 feet/second. My opinion is that the flat top piston and the longer barrel are the biggest speed boosting factors. A larger transfer port increased performance too. Sorry I can't provide more information, since I had modified the 1322 before getting the Chrony so I was looking at the amount of deformation of the pellets when hitting a steel target. My current setup has a lighter hammer spring and a smaller transfer port to keep the speed down. The big advantage of the flat top piston setup is that it takes less pumping (or maybe it's just my imagination) to get a good shot. I was testing with Air Arms diabolo field pellets (16 grain pellets I think - the tin of pellets is at home).

With an 18" barrel chances are you're already over 500fps with 10 pumps.
There are some electronic versions of free chronys out there that work about as well as you expect for the cost.
If you just have to measure it without a real chrony though, give them a try:

My 1322 with steel breech, flat top, and 14" barrel is shooting Crosman Premier Hollowpoints at 480fps on 10 pumps. With 4 more inches of barrel and the hollow probe, but no flat top, you're going to be pretty close to the limit. Maybe over, maybe not.

If we knew your location, someone near by might have a chrono you could fire a few shots over.
