Anyone heard of or tried this transfer port? The seller has a great selection of mods for sale too.

There's no point of getting it since the barrel port will remain the same size.

If you want to try this, you can open up your own transfer port.

Pretty pricey for a TP.

I think the port helps a bit, but the biggest gains are from the flat top piston and a longer barrel. The p-rod mod and the steel breech don't affect speed as much. My 1320 has a 14 inch barrel, drilled port and the flat top mod, 450 fps jsb 16 grain 460 fps with crosman premiere hollow point. That is with 10 pumps. The flat top takes fewer pumps for the same speed and that is important to me cuz I'm lazy.

$15.00 to take a drillbit out and expand your existing transfer port? A transfer port is a $2.00 part.

Beyond that, why is it assumed this modification will gain anything? Is the valve retaining air?

A Crosman transfer port sleeve can be opened up to 0.162" if you do it carefully, one number drill at a time.... The biggest problem you will have is holding it without crushing it.... If you are talking .177 cal, there is no reason to go larger than the 0.140" stock port anyway....

The barrel ports are 0.134", and that is about as large as you can go in .177 cal without causing loading problem for the pellet (ie damage).... In .22 cal, you can go as large as 0.162" for both the barrel port and the transfer port, but doing one without doing the other will show little if any gains....

Thanks Bob! I was making my own TP but didn't have one to copy at work. It is .509 OAL but I started with .25 4130N tube with .035 wall leaving me to large inside to be usable. I'll have to use .058 wall to make the right size one. It's for the breach I made not a BNM.

This is for a Disco, not a 13XX.... but it shows what happens in .22 cal with different Transfer Port diameters....

Image

The barrel port is the stock 0.134", so you can see the gains being limited by that....
