For all of you who bought 953 bundled with scope. I couldn't find it but it is very likely this mod was was mentioned someplace on this forum.
This is best mod you can do to this package... for free and about 10 min of your time.

Scope that came with this rifle is cheap and tuned for much greater distances that we normally use it. Watch this video on how to adjust it for your normal target distance.

I was straggling with this issue as everything was getting foggy and blurry if I tried to go past 3x zoom. Now with this fix I have crystal clear picture at 9x.
No need to change this scope for anything better it is perfect as it is for fixed target shooting like basement range...

Enjoy.

this has been mentioned before i think, so your saying that you where able to remove your front outer ring (bell) i have tried to remove mine and its on there pretty dame good, either its glued on or something and i didn't want to chance it.

Edit: never mind i just removed mine 8) it was on there very hard, but since i did a quick searched and found this thread on another forum i decided to put some more effort into it and yes!!!! :supz: thanks for bringing this up again.

here is the post i found that gave me the courage to break the seal. I just set mine up for 35ft its crystal clear now, the 953 package just keeps getting better :D
even though i have another scope on my 953 at the moment, the Powerline scope will remain as a backup scope

Just did mine as well , works just fine. Had the same issues as everyone else removing the outer ring. Wrapped it with 3 rounds of masking tape and used a set of channel locks on it with only enough pressure to dent the tape. With the extra leverage it loosened easily. There were no marks left on the ring after the tape was removed later. I was going to toss the scope anyway if this didn't work out so I felt there was nothing to loose. It came bundled with the rifle and the rifle alone was a great deal. Now the scope is preset to 33 feet which is the target distance I have in the basement. Thanks for posting this.
