One thing I did notice today is that the Crosman HP's were a snugger fit than the other 4

I don't think the match pellets are available in .22

I'll try paper at 20 yards next day out

I too noticed Benji Domes (same as Crosman 14.3gr domed) were a very snug fit. They yielded great groups though. I think the HW barrels may prefer wider diameter pellets in .22. My HW98 loved FTT's 5.53mm the best too, ran out of 5.54mm's to try in it though. What took the cake were FTT's at 5.53mm and even better 5.54mm.

Looking forward to your 20 yard groups!

More awesome info, thx again!!
I'll have to make a local pellet order next pay :)
SSSO was out of the FTTs when I ordered so I got some of the heavier FTs

I found 2 bottles of Loctite in my toolbox :)
One is the red Permanent and the other is the blue Medium strength
Im sure the medium is probably the better to use on my trigger guard screws or is the medium too strong even?
I think I have some purple around too for small screws but not sure if its strong enough
Pretty sure I saw a thread recently about using thread tape to help keep screws tight
Thx

Congratulations on the purchase!

Quote:
What kind of ranges could I expect to be getting good groups at considering its at 500 fps??

My 97kt started as a detuned version as well and it would shoot the JSB Exact Jumbos 15.89gr at 480fps. That gives your about 430fps at 25 m, 415fps at 35m, and 385fps at 50m/55yards. Unless the wind will mess things up, you'll be perfectly fine at 25m and I'm pretty sure it will group nicely at 50m as well :)

Mine really likes H&N FTT in 5.54 size (strong preference over 5.53), and Barracuda Hunter Extreme - although these will be too heavy for <500fps version of the rifle (I got 395fps with these). All flavours of JSBs that I tried also shot pretty well at 10m but open to about 1" at 25m

Cheers!

I'll have to try some of the wider pellets then, seems like everyone's loves them so far

I'm going to hunt down a sleeve of the 5.54 then, sounds like they should work good
