First off, I should note that I completed my Hunter Safety and Firearms Safety in January and have since applied for my PAL - this would only be attempted once I have received my PAL card for sake of legality.

I am under the impression that the Cometa Lynx (with 495 engraved) is able to be "souped up" to a more powerful gun. I have seen the thread here, and those linked from it: topic44501.html

I was wondering if there is someone I can send the rifle to (with proof of PAL) to soup up the regulator above 495, or if there I can simply replace some parts and have that do the job. Please note that I am very familiar with paintball gun breakdown/buildup including rebuilding regulators (for those in the know, I've done a lot of work with Tiberius and Tippmann pistols) - so I'm not a total newbie on that front.

Of course the alternative is just to keep the 495 as the handy target plinker it currently is, and just get a nice second-hand rifle to fill the high-power void when my PAL arrives... Just trying to make that decision right now :)

TIA.

What are you planning to do with it?
If you live within a City Limit and with the "By-Laws" within those limits, Hope you have a Relative or Friend that has some expanse of land to "Wring it out".
If you do some research, you can "Purchase the Up-Grades" to do your "Wants".

Phone up this Guy..http://jdsairman.com/newproducts.html

Or send Voltar1 and email.

I addressed the by-law issue in another thread, and it seems that I should be fine on that front... I also have various family up around Blackville area with plenty of land to 'play' on.

Any other suggestions would be welcome re: specific parts and/or stuff to read for research.

He is upon his Euro vacation for the next month. But he has a couple Cometas. Not sure what he has done to them as of yet.

Have my Comets Lynx 22 along today. Need to rip into it as it is lobbying pellets as if around 400fps
Accurate at the15 to 20 yards but pathetic loopy shots further out.
Need this to be as snappy as the Hatsans :-)

Maybe leaving it at 495 and purchasing a different rifle for high power shooting is the way to go.
There is not a lot of info on those rifles other than they are hard to work on and maybe not suited to modding, just saying this because I was once interested in getting a Lynx myself but found them to be limited by parts and service info available.
