Once youve tuned the gun to your preferance. The set screw tightend against the adjuster is to prevent movement.

You need a chronograph to measure muzzle velocity at varying settings of the adjuster screw. And then fix it up with a set screw at a velocity you like. That’s how I did it.
Honestly, the adjuster it is not a big deal for gaining velocity. It is a minor gain. I think it is more important to set up at the minimum velocity you like which saves you some CO2. Personally, I don’t care about a few more or less shots.
