On my At44 I have an air stripper.. I noticed today there is a film of grey, I'm assuming lead, on the surface. About 2 tins of pellets through the gun since installing the stripper. If that is normal, then should I be cleaning my barrel every tin ?

Many pellets come with graphite on them to prevent oxidation. Perhaps that is what it is.

Unless you start having problems hitting your target I would not clean airgun barrels. They dont get fouled like if you were shooting corrosive surplus ammo. Most airguns tend to shoot worse after you clean the barrel and you need to run some lead through them to get them shooting right again.

Had a hole bunch in my Revolution moderator too. Was using unwashed and was coated with Pledge, so not sure from whence it came.

As I think about it, was also using Hunter Extremes, may have been build up in the X of the extremes too.

Do find any performance improvement with the stripper, Joe. I was contemplating one myself.

yes, I find there is a difference. The gun looks better than with the little cap that it came with. Accuracy improved a little as well.
