I love my S&W 77 but the line of the stock and level of the sights meant I couldn't shoot it without throwing out my trick neck/shoulder - they were just too darn low so....

I used inter-mounts, a rear sight of an air hawk and a piece of leather (for now as a proof of concept and something I could easily cut down in place to get the correct blade height - I will look fro a suitable piece of plastic to replicate the mock up).

A real Frankenstein solution but it works!!

The new rear sight sits with the elevation screw over the old sight so I can still adjust if needed fro longer distances but it is now bang on at 20 feet.

I like this even better than having to scope it.

Thanks and I think the rear I thought was from my air hawk which is scoped now... could be from my old 953 that I sold to my brother in law scoped.... hmmm.... where did it come from? I will have to check.

found a nice piece of plastic and at first it was too high and thus I shot way low and hit myself in the bag. See picture.
a little trimming and then it was more accurate than I am.
10 shots off hand 21 feet Crosman premier hallow point .22. almost quarter sized group (dime without the flyers) and the wild ones were all me usually just getting tired and shoot have drop the rifle and start again. Its been a while since I've been shooting so this was fun to play with tonight. Also should have taken the time to find my specs but....

So a successful night tinkering and doing laundry after watching Clint paint the town red in High Planes Drifter.
