Nice project indeed. That thing is just begging for a walnut stock.

My thoughts too!
You'd have to really modify a Discovery stock for the trigger area as your cheapest solution.

Finally got to weigh the slugs, maybe someone can check my calculations here....took an average of 10 of them(yes they varied a little bit) getting 57.26 grams divided by 10 to get weight of one, then multiply by 15.4323584? to get 88.36grn?

Haha, no knife, lots of filing though, I have SOME powertools, just no machine tools  getting a reasonably straight hole drilled was the biggest issue.

47fpe - hits like a brick is right (for an air rifle) - however at that low speed, it's sight requirements must be interesting.

Power-wise and at that calibre, it likely duplicates some of the very early black powder CF and RF gallery rifles.

Hey guys, I know how we all like pics so I put together a lil clip of it in action, in a few of my vid clips I can see the lead fly, but hit consistently @ just under 100 ft. with sights, wasn't bad at that distance till the pressure dropped and the slugs hit low on the keg, they still knocked holes in and out though! this still is not a very practical airgun for anything but havin fun, but sometimes that's what it's all about! :D https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3VSKigN ... e=youtu.be

That poor keg. Never had a chance. Should at least get it out to a fair distance before clobbering the thing!

Got a lee .375 round ball mold for the grey squirrel gun, and put it back together, recycling spent pellets and pure lead! The rounds seem to fit fine, thought these may be slower but actually get sent out faster, possibly they are just tight enough to seal but not too much drag....?
they measure right on .375 and seem to fit the barrel I built for them but the last inch or so of barrel is a little more snug measuring .373+....too much choke maybe? pic of the lead ball with rifling marks were sent into cloth at lower pressure to catch em and keep their shape a bit. very obvious that the lead ball has much better penetration than the slugs I had been making. open to suggestions, and also advise to make a semi out of this as its easier to feed these than the slugs.

cheers-Matt
