Hi everyone. I'm looking for a decent checkering tool set. Not expensive. A 3 piece starter kit will do. But if the price is right, I'll look at any set. Thanks.

Hi Joe!

I bought a kit several year ago. I contacted the guy by e-mail and he was friendly.

If I remember it was shipped from the states and I didn't have any problem.

This is the link:

Good luck and have fun.

I used the same tools long ago when I was a full-time gunsmith. Only made two stocks and a few handgun grips.

I had two sets, 24LPI and 18LPI. Took me a lot of patience and practice. Go slow, stay slow!

I just looked at the KVwoodcarving site. I think I'll order a set of cutter replacement heads and make my own handles. I can get an 8 cutter set for under $60 plus tax and shipping. The 6 cutter set is $81 but you dont get the border cutter or the double specer.unless of course someone out there has a set they don't use and want to sell.
